While autism itself can feel like an isolating experience, there are
many resources for families facing the diagnoisis, ranging from support
organizations, treatment centers and educational institutions. The Autism Hope
Alliance is dedicated to providing information and resources to improve the
outcome of children, adolescents, and adults affected by autism.
We
maintain a user community forum where questions can be raised and new found
information and success stories are shared on Yahoo Groups. Please email
info@AutismHopeAlliance.org with "Request to Join
AHA Yahoo Group" in the subject field so that our moderator can add you to this
community forum. We also suggest you opt-in to our e-Mail list (which would
never be shared with any other organization) to receive our periodic updates on
lectures, events and other valuable information we judge to be of value and use
for autism families.
Autism Hope Alliance also offers the following list of websites we
believe are valuable for resource: - Advanced Brain

music
listening therapy, that supports learning, communication,

promote safe and effective treatments for a disorder that many medical
professionals still consider untreatable. The conferences are distinguished by

digestive enzymes. There is a large need to provide practical and general
information on enzyme therapy for a wide range of uses.
- Gluten Free Casein Free (GFCF) Diet
- The Gluten Free Casein Free (GFCF) Diet is one of the very
first recommendations for children diagnosed with autism. This is because many
of the children lack the [dpp4] enzyme that allows them to break down gluten
(proteins in wheat) and casein (proteins in dairy). This can cause poor
attention, odd behavior, a deficit in socialization skills and poor speech.
Consequently, when gluten- and casein-based foods are removed improved
behavior, better attention, at times improved speech and an increase in
socialization skills can follow.
- Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey's Autism Organization -

embracing gluten and dairy free living. The site is designed to help educate
and enable people to find delicious recipes.
- The Body Ecology Diet

or control the symptoms that rob you of the joy of living. The cornerstone to
the BED is fermentation which allows food’s natural bacterial reproduce so
it becomes soft, delicious, and easier to digest.
- The HANDLE
- The HANDLE (Holistic Approach to NeuroDevelopment &
Learning Efficiency) Institute provides effective non-drug evaluation and
treatment for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Just as no two
fingerprints are alike, so also no two people have the same arrangement of
pathways that carry messages to, within, and from their brains. HANDLE utilizes
a holistic perspective, assessing numerous interdependent body-mind influences
within each individual as they respond to a vast array of elements within their
environment which has been shown to improve the bilateral and crossing the
midline issues.

and other related disabilities, providing a full range of educational,
residential and treatment programs designed to help children with
autism.
- The Specific Carbohydrate
Diet
- Research shows that fungi and bacteria in the GI tract cause
gastrointestinal problems and neurological problems such as autism. Studies
also indicate that starches and certain sugars feed these fungi and bacteria.
The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) eliminates the foods that feed these
microorganisms, starving the pathogens so that they leave the body. The child
is no longer a hostage to billions of pathogenic invaders that poison the gut
and brain.
